Ayo Dosunmu got selected with the 38th pick in the 2021 NBA draft by the team he grew up watching, the Chicago Bulls. Dosunmu became the first Bull to be from Chicago and have gotten selected by the Bulls since Derrick Rose (2008). In the 2021 Summer League, Dosunmu averaged 12.6 points and 4.4 rebounds in 5 games. In his NBA debut, he scored 7 points in 11 minutes. Chicago beat Detroit 94-88. Dosunmu got the opportunity to start in 40 games, which led to averages of 10.9 points, 5.4 assists, and 3.6 rebounds. In his first playoff series, he averaged 4.0 points in 17.2 minutes.
