According to sources close to Shams Charnia, guard Goran Dragic and the Chicago Bulls have agreed on a one-year/$2.9M. With Dragic signing, Chicago is now at a full 15-man roster.
Dragic averaged 7.5 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.1 rebounds in 21 games in the 2021-22 season. He played five games to begin the season with Toronto Raptors. But he sat out for more than half of the season for personal reasons. At the trade deadline, he got dealt in a trade to the San Antonio Spurs along with a 2022 first-round pick in exchange for Drew Eubanks, Thaddeus Young, and a 2022 second-round pick. After a buy-out with the Spurs, he signed a one-year deal with the Brooklyn Nets.
In his 14-year career, Dragic has averaged 13.7 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.7 rebounds in 888 games. Dragic has been selected to one All-Star in his career and earned the Most Improved Player of the year award in 2014.

Chicago’s depth chart at the point guard position is Lonzo Ball, Coby White, Ayo Dosunmu, and now Goran Dragic. Dragic getting signed for the final roster spot means two things. First, playoff experience, he has averaged 14.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in 60 games in the playoffs in his career. Second, Coby White will most likely get traded before the 2023 Trade Deadline. Out of those four players, White probably won’t get any minutes. But with questions marks about the health of Lonzo Ball, this signing could mean Ball will miss more time than expected.
Overall, this signing was a good signing for the Bulls. Who would have thought that 12 years after Derrick Rose postered Dragic, Dragic would be a Bull in 2022.
