The Chicago Bulls will look to get their first win in their first 2022 NBA2k23 Summer League game against the Dallas Mavericks Friday afternoon. Some names Bulls fans might know well are 2022 first-round pick Dalen Terry, 2020 second-round pick Marko Simonovic, and Malcolm Hill. Simonovic spent most of the 2021-22 season with the Windy City Bulls. Malcolm Hill averaged 3.4 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 0.4 assists in 16 games in a Bulls uniform last season.

Dallas sent their 2022 first-round pick to Houston in the Christian Wood trade. But on draft night, they got the draft rights to Jaden Hardy from Sacramento at the 37th pick. Another player to be paired with Hardy, Jalen Lecque, averaged 15.9 points per game while shooting 36.5 percent from 3 last season with the Wisconsin Herd (Milwaukee Bucks G League team). The 7’0″ big man from Michigan State, Marcus Bingham, averaged 9.3 points and 6.3 rebounds with the Spartans last season. Expect Bingham to be contributing big time on defense.

Match Details

Fixture: Chicago Bulls vs Dallas Mavericks | NBA Las Vegas Summer League 2022.

Date & Time: Friday, July 8, 3:00 PM CT, 4:00 ET.

Channel: ESPNU

Venue: Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas, NV.

Key Players

Bulls: Dalen Terry

The 2022 first-round Dalen Terry will finally have his game in a Chicago Bulls uniform. But after his first practice in Chicago, Terry got the award for being the “Most Competitive” for the first day of practice. Terry had competitive one-on-one drills and scrimmages against soon-to-be third-year forward Patrick Williams. Williams testing Terry in practice is a great sign to come. Expect Terry to be everywhere on the court Friday afternoon, but it’s unclear what his role will be in Las Vegas. The Arizona guard is versatile and is lengthy to guard positions 1-3 and sometimes the four position. Chicago Bulls 2022 Summer League Head Coach John Bryant said Terry has been working with shooting coaches before heading to Las Vegas.

Mavericks: Jaden Hardy

Dallas sent their 2022 first-round pick to Houston in the Christian Wood trade, so their only draft pick of the 2022 draft was Jaden Hardy. The 19-year-old Jaden Hardy signed with the NBA G League Ignite team last year to develop in the G League. He averaged 17.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.2 assists, shooting 35.1 percent from the field. Mavericks GM Nico Harrison comments on Hardy, “Super talented; he’s still raw – he’s young, so it’s going take a while. He was a second-round draft pick, but he can really score the ball at a high level.”

Prediction

The Bulls vs. Mavericks will be a solid matchup to see which players will perform well and which team has gained team chemistry faster during their mini-training camp. I expect Chicago, with their competitiveness and mentally, will become 1-0 going into Saturday. Dalen Terry will have a solid showing, but don’t expect a great Hall of Fame performance; he is only 19 until July 12.
