The Chicago Bulls will look to become of the few 2-0 teams in the Summer League if they can get past the New York Knicks. Last Friday, Chicago completed a 16-point comeback against the Dallas Mavericks to become 1-0. Marko Simonovic had the game-winning free throw with zero’s on the clock. The Knicks are 1-0 and won in a blowout fashion against the Golden State Warriors, 101-88. Quentin Grimes led all scorers with 24 points.

Keys to Bulls getting to 2-0 in Vegas
1. Take Care of the Ball
Against most teams, committing 21 turnovers will usually result in a loss. But that didn’t Friday afternoon for the Bulls. Given that it was their first game in a while for those guys, you have to give them a break. But with one game under their belt, it’s time to lock and take care of the ball. That includes Bulls 2022 first-round pick, Dalen Terry. Terry had game-high six turnovers. But remember, he is not a point guard and plays much better off the ball. Terry is not a finished product, but it’s also good to know where to improve once the Summer League ends. New York forced the Warriors to turnover the ball 23 times; turnovers will be one of many factors that will decide who wins this game.
2. Play Consist for 40 minutes
There were many moments for the Bulls Friday afternoon when they couldn’t find a way to score, and that allowed Dallas to go on runs. That includes the second quarter when Chicago scored only 12 points and allowed 30 points. Nobody would be able to beat the Bulls if they played as they did in the fourth quarter. At this same time, New York struggled in the second quarter, scoring 16 points in Friday’s game. But the Knicks responded with 35 points in the third quarter. Chicago can’t afford to fall behind once again.

Bulls: Marko Simonovic
Marko Simonovic is trying to make a name for himself in Vegas and wants to earn minutes off the bench next season on the Chicago Bulls. Simonovic is coming off a great game of 27 points and 13 rebounds, going 10-19 from the field. That includes a game-winning free throw. But the effort on the boards led to him winning the game for Chicago. Look out for Simonovic to respond from three after going 0-3 from the three.
Knicks: Quentin Grimes
Quentin Grimes led the Knicks with team-high 24 points shooting 8-21 from the field. But he struggled from three, shooting 4-14. When the Knicks exploded for 35 points in the third quarter, Grimes had 10 points and assisted on four buckets. Last season, Grimes averaged 6.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.0 assists in 46 games with the New York Knicks. Also, Grimes started six games and scored 20+ points twice as a starter. Look for Dalen Terry to get his first defensive test against Quentin Grimes.
