The Bulls look done making moves, but could there be one or two more moves done before the season starts? Chicago has been smart moves by bringing back Zach Lavine on a 5-year max contract deal and Derrick Jones Jr on a 2-year deal. They have brought in veterans of Andre Drummond and Goran Dragic. Last season, the Bulls selected Arizona guard Dalen Terry with their first-round pick to add to their guard depth.
Depth became a significant problem for the Bulls last season when the COVID outbreak happened in December, and critical players of Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso went down with injuries, as well as Zach Lavine, who sat some games. The Bulls have a full roster of 15 players but could move on from a couple of players in the upcoming weeks or months to make some cap space.
Chicago Bulls 2022-23 Depth Chart
| Point Guard | Shooting Guard | Small Forward | Power Forward | Center |
| Lonzo Ball | Zach Lavine | DeMar DeRozan | Patrick Williams | Nikola Vucevic |
| Goran Dragic | Alex Caruso | Javonte Green | Derrick Jones Jr | Andre Drummond |
| Ayo Dosunmu | Coby White | Tony Bradley | ||
| Dalen Terry | Marko Simonovic | |||
Too Much Depth?
The Bulls next season, as of right, will start with seven guards, four forwards, and four centers. Javon Freeman-Liberty and Justin Lewis are on two-way contracts. So there is a slight chance Lewis and Liberty get minutes for the Bulls this season. Simonovic, Freeman-Liberty, and Lewis will spend most of the season with the Windy City Bulls. One question about the rotation is how minutes will rookie Dalen Terry get? In my opinion, Terry will get around 5-10 minutes, but who knows. Depth is significant for a playoff run and when injuries do occur. But I wonder what Billy Donavan’s plan will be heading into the 2022-23 season.
Bradley or White Gone?
Tony Bradley accepted his player to return to Chicago for the final year of his contract. He averaged 3.4 rebounds, 3.0 points and 0.6 blocks in 55 games last season and started in 7 games. But Bradley isn’t as good as Vucevic, Drummond and I would make the argument for Simonovic also. The question is how much trade value does Bradley have in the trade market. Bradley could get traded in a three-way trade or be in a package with Coby White possibly. Chicago is in need of depth at forward.

White, 22, will be entering the last year of his rookie deal. He has not gotten offered a rookie extension. At the guard positions, Coby White will likely get the least amount of minutes out of all the guards except for rookie Dalen Terry. There could be a possibility that White will get minutes as the sixth man to boost his trade value and get traded at the trade deadline. Also, there could be a situation where White is getting shopped around, but Marc Eversley and the Bulls front office haven’t found the right trade. I believe the Bulls are done making moves, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they did make one move to get some cap heading into the 2023 off-season. Bradley will be more likely to get shipped than White.
