The Chicago Bulls have announced today that undrafted free agent Justin Lewis will be out indefinitely with a right ACL injury that occurred during a workout last Friday and will require surgery. Lewis, who signed a two-way contract in June after draft night, will look to recover fully. According to a source to Bulls Insider, K.C. Johnson, the workout was away from the Bulls.

Justin Lewis had an alright showing in Vegas, with the Bulls averaging 7.6 points and 4.4 rebounds. He scored in double-digits once (11 Points), which happened in the last game against the Philadelphia 76ers last month. Lewis averaged 16.8 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 1.3 assists during his sophomore season. He earned First-team All-Big East honors and the Big East Most Improved Player award.

While the Bulls did not announce a timetable for a return, typically, it takes 6-9 months to recover from an ACL injury. That would mean Lewis would be out until February if he fully recovers. When Lewis returns, he will likely spend most of his time with the Windy City Bulls. Remember some important dates for the Windy City Bulls, January 5, G League 36-game regular season begins, and April 2, the NBA G League Regular Season ends.
